DELTA YOUTH AFTERSCHOOL CLUB
At Community First, we are strong believers in the ability of our youth to succeed. Our afterschool program, the DYAC provides classes and activities designed to help youth from 5th-8th grades fulfill their goals and strive to achieve their highest potential. We are proud of all our youth and love watching them grow into bright-minded, confident individuals.

Open Monday-Thursday from 2:45-5:15 on days when the Delta Middle School is in session.
Schedule:
Snack -2:45-3:00
Homework time - 3:00-4:00
Enrichment activity - 4:00-5:00
Free time - 5:00-5:15

WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
The DYAC is an afterschool program for youth attending Delta Middle School in Delta, Utah. We are a part of Community First, a non-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen the community and its families. The DYAC provides attendees with an afterschool snack, homework assistance and mentoring, and daily enrichment activities. We seek to provide education and experiences that will assist youth in developing positive self images and give them the ability to make good choices. We place emphasis on the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics), substance abuse & suicide prevention, SEL and resiliency, and service opportunities. And, especially, we have FUN!
AFTERSCHOOL IMPACT
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), when youth participate in afterschool programs, risky behaviors decrease and measures of success increase. Studies have found program attendees show improvement in school day attendance, social skills, work habits and classroom behavior, reading and math scores, and graduation rates. Surveys conducted by the Center for Disease Control for Alaska have found that afterschool programs are protective factors for youth, providing skills, resources, and experiences that help individuals cope with the stresses of life and self-harming decisions such as substance use. So there you have it! Afterschool programs = Lots of good stuff!
